Quotient identities

These quotient identities are very useful whenever expressions involving trigonometric functions need to be simplified.

$$\tan \alpha=\frac{\sin\alpha}{\cos\alpha}$$ $$\cot\alpha=\frac{\cos\alpha}{\sin\alpha}$$

Note! From these two given formulas we can easily obtain the following relation: $\tan\alpha\cdot \cot\alpha=1$
